Jul 31, 2013 · I was Ops Officer on Braine 1965-67. At 28 kts we burned 2% per hour. We did 30 kt SOA with Connie, Japan to Yankee station. We fueled at 25 kts. 30 kts possible only because the Chief Snipe had made a set of bored out boiler nozzle plates. We did most of the trip at 30 kts. That is steaming!!!!
